You Have Full Control Over Your Career Path!

I started my career in the travel industry.

I never asked myself if that was what I wanted to do, I just woke up every day and went to work… for 7 years!

If you are early in your career, you need to know this:

You have full control over your career path!

It is not up to your manager, the company or luck, it is up to you to design your journey.

Here’s the thing, I had a nice job and but I wasn’t fulfilled.

I assumed that’s just the way life is, and I didn’t question it.

And then, I found marketing and realized I had to make a change. I had to take control over my career and come up with a plan that would give me an opportunity to land a job in marketing.

Here is what I did:

1. I figured out what it took to be a social media manager

2. I read every blog post, tweet or news about the topic to close the gap

3. I created an opportunity within the travel agency to gain hands-on experience

4. After a few months, when I gained some confidence, I started applying for roles

𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗫 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗿.

Don’t do that.
